summer pasture & herd tours

Our next crop of Shorthorn Yearling Bulls is currently out on pasture with their dams, developing the natural soundness and muscle they need to perform for commercial cattle producers. Held to a strict zero-tolerance standard for structural integrity and feet, this group of functional yearlings will be sorted and ready for viewing at the farm in Irma, Alberta this coming winter. Contact us today to get early data or to look at our reference sires.

The best way to evaluate our upcoming yearling bull crop is to see the cows that raised them. We welcome commercial producers and purebred breeders to visit the ranch in Irma this summer for a pasture tour. Come see our Shorthorn cow herd working in their natural, everyday environment on grass, and see firsthand the maternal power, udder quality, and structural soundness driving our program.

shorthorn genetics engineered for the commercial producer

hard-culling & arid hardiness

Based out of the notoriously arid hills of Irma, Alberta, our cattle are forced to perform in tough conditions. We hold a strict zero-tolerance policy for structural integrity issues. If an animal cannot maintain its feet, legs, and body condition on our land base, it does not stay in the herd.

maternal excellence & fertility

A profitable cow herd starts with high-maternal efficiency. We select ruthlessly for perfect udder quality, docility, and early fertility. Our females are expected to breed back on time, calve unassisted, and raise heavy calves year after year.

50 years of seedstock integrity

For five decades, the Lingley family has maintained a deep commitment to the beef industry. We blend traditional breed character with modern performance metrics, ensuring our bulls and females provide the hybrid vigor and carcass quality that commercial cattle operations demand.

50 years in the making

  • 1974 | THE FOUNDATION: The Lingley family started in the purebred industry with Limousin cattle, standing as some of the earliest progressive breeders in Canada.
  • 2000 | THE SHORTHORN EXPANSION: We integrated Shorthorn genetics into the operation, instantly recognizing their unmatched maternal efficiency and crossbreeding power for commercial cattlemen.
  • TODAY | REAL CATTLE, REAL RESULTS: Based out of the arid hills of Irma, Alberta, our family program continues to combine decades of stockman tradition with modern, performance-driven metrics.
